There's Thailand
on the brochure.
There’s a version of Thailand it shows everyone.
And then there’s the version it saves for people who actually pay attention.
That second version — louder, messier, funnier, more generous, more layered, more alive than anything a highlight reel could capture — is the one we grew up in. It’s the one we carry with us. It’s the one we write about, every single time, without exception.
We’ve never been interested in showing you the brochure version.
This is the Thailand behind the Thailand.
The one that doesn’t need a filter because it’s already extraordinary. The one that will get under your skin and stay there long after your tan fades and your suitcase is unpacked.

Why Thaitop exists?
Thaitop exists because Thailand deserves someone who actually knows it. Not a media brand that flew in for a content trip. Someone who watched Doi Suthep vanish into fog every morning before school. Someone who’s spent close to 40 years learning this country the slow way — the only way that counts.
We believe Thailand deserves to be seen through a local’s heart, not a tourist’s camera. We believe every person who visits our home deserves to arrive with something most travel content never gives them: the right understanding.
Not just where to go. How to truly arrive.
So here’s the whole mission, no padding: If someone reads Thaitop, visits Thailand, and goes home understanding something about this country that most visitors never do — that’s the whole point. That’s always been the whole point.
Come. But come ready to actually meet us.

What we actually do here
We write about hidden gems
and we mean that literally, not as a marketing term. These aren't "undiscovered." We've known about them our whole lives. We just never wrote them down in English before now.
We write about Thai culture the way it actually works
not the sanitised, brochure-ready version, but the real operating system underneath: the philosophies, the unwritten rules, the beautiful illogic that makes Thailand feel like nowhere else on earth once you understand what you're looking at.
We write about food the way our grandmothers talked about food
with reverence, with specificity, with the particular intensity of people who believe that a bowl of noodles can tell you more about a place than any museum exhibit ever could.
we write from the inside
always from the inside. Because there's a version of Thailand that reveals itself only to people who've earned it — through curiosity, through respect, through the willingness to slow down long enough to actually arrive somewhere.
We want to help you get there faster. With significantly better snacks along the way.
